Day 1
Lifestyle Post
Lifestyle post where are you today in real life? Who are you with? Approach this post as you would a personal post.  People love you and social media marketing is all about relationships! So show who you are and let people fall in love with you.  If you have a great post from your personal profile, feel free to use it instead of creating a different one for today.  You can keep it really really simple and fast by copy pasting that photo and text to your business profile.  This is a really great way for people to see who it is that you are, without changing anything for business.  As a business owner, you’re going to have this urge to change what you did.  Don’t change it…. just copy paste.  Whenever I have done this for myself it has always worked amazingly.  In fact, I don’t even post on my personal profile anymore.  EVERYTHING goes on my business pages.
Day 2
Product/Service Post
Today I want you to show me how to use one of your products. Which product have you sold the most of?  Since we already know that this product is popular, I would suggest showing how to use that product.  This can be in your bathroom, at your kitchen counter, in your living room, or office…. it doesn’t matter.  Think about your best friend and how you would show her.  It’s important for this video to be kinda spontaneous and NOT be perfect.  Also, keep it short (2 to 3 minutes).  Then post to IG TV and directly to Facebook.  IG TV will give you an option to preview on your profile and, YES, you want to do that so it is seen in the feed.  Don’t forget to talk about how your customer can get your product (one way).  Also, make it easy for them by posting the link to buy if you can (or at least link in bio).
If you are a service based business, show me your service In action.  A tour of a home you decorated or are selling, you putting makeup on a client (with their permission), etc.  Whatever It Is that you do, SHOW ME!!
Day 3
Intro to Quote Graphics
Quote graphics work best when they are of simple design, use highly contrasting colors (like black and white with one word underlined in color), and are short quotes that YOU said.  If you are unsure what your graphic should look like then go look at what others are doing!!  Or go look at Paula Thiel FB.  In any of those places, you can see what they are doing.  That is a great reference for you.  Don’t spend too much time creating a graphic and don’t try to make it perfect!!  I use Pic Monkey to create mine.  They have amazing templates for lots of other uses too, including web banners, business cards etc and they are stupidly affordable.  Otherwise, there are lots of apps for mobile.  A lot of people like Canva or Word Swag, otherwise test out some free ones.  Up to you!

I know I keep saying to not make things perfect, but each of these prompts is going to be an invitation to you to create something, and you have to resist the urge to spend a ton of time on it because that’s not what makes the difference on social media.  What makes the difference is consistently posting every single day, and creating content that people want to consume and engage with. You have a lot of other things in your business that need your time too.  So be careful with that and guard over it because time is the one thing that we can never ever get back!!
Day 4
Encouraging Words
Encouraging words. This is where you show up for your customer and speak words of life over them. What is it that you desire to help improve in your customer’s life? What goal can you help them achieve?  What can you say today that will encourage one person?  As you are writing this post (and really any post) one way to speak to the heart is thinking about ONLY one person and writing to them.   DON’T think about your entire audience that will see this.   Visualize one person and address that person without using their name, of course.  Pair this encouragement with a smiling photo of you or someone else.  Again, you can pull this from your professional catalog, your personal profile, your phone selfies with your family, anywhere, really.  The most engaging photo will be a real life photo of you though, something that blends Into the feed they are scrolling through.  This Is so much more relatable than stock or model photos.
Day 5
Mirroring
Pick one post from any of the pages you follow.  You can do this with pages in your industry or outside of your industry.  Choose one that is highly engaging (you'll know it's engaging by how many comments/likes/shares it has.  Pick one that also resonates with YOU!  How can you mirror this with your page?  Or how can you respond to what they said?  We are not copying but we are finding inspiration outside of ourselves to bring the best we have to offer to our audience.
Day 6
Your Story
Create a selfie vid today telling a bit of your OR your companies story, or if you have one, use an “about us” video telling the story of your company.  I’m leaving that up to you!! Post that on IGTV, which will generate a preview for your feed and it should populate directly to Facebook Watch.  Then create a regular Facebook post with this too.
Day 7
Product/Service Post
You need to be talking about what you sell.  Yes, we are building relationships, but how are you gonna get paid by your new friends?  You gotta be super comfy talking about your product or service or you won't be able to sustain your business.  So starting today until the end of time, for every 10 posts, I want 2 of those posts to be Product/Service posts.  Add these In even when I don't mention It.
Guidelines for your product/service posts:
What is the benefit of using this product/service?  One way I have done this is here in this hanger post.

I quickly listed all the things that I want these hangers to do and then I solved the problem with these hangers.  Notice I am in this photo.  You can swipe this file by saying “This XYZ____ Product is EVERYTHING.”  Then list the three things your customers want that product to do for them, then say “This _____ product” following what I did in this post.   I’m excited to see how this works for you!
Day 8
Long Post
I want you to take the time today to create a long post (about anything ). It can be something that is dear to your heart.  What could you talk about forever that has NOTHING to do with your business?  Keep it positive…. no ranting.  Instagram is also going to want a picture posted here so you can either take a quick selfie, grab a photo from your personal profile or take one line from your long post and turn it into a black text, white background quote graphic that will grab people’s attention and resonate with them.  NO PROFESSIONAL SHOTS on this post.  It can be a pretty selfie of you with makeup on, but not a studio shot.  This is going to help your relationships on social media so so much!!
Day 9
Ask a Question
Ask a question.  Anything that is short and easy to answer.  Yesterday I did a post that said Life should be __________.  Then asked my ppl to fill in the blank in only one word.  The answers were beautiful.  You can take this right from me, or you can come up with your own fill in the blank.  Instagram will require a picture, so you can ask the question using literally any photo you want to use.   I am leaving this somewhat open ended, because letting your personality shine though is of the utmost importance.
Day 10
Happy Selfie
Let’s do a happy selfie today, background does not matter AT ALL.  People love happy smiling, full on laughing photos. Then add just a quick little “How is your day going? I’d love to hear about it!”  Love, _your name__(and whoever else is in the photo with you). Be yourself though, whatever words you would use here is what you actually want to write.
Day 11
Product Post
Let’s try a 1-2 minute video in your house. DON’T OVEREDUCATE me.  Just tell me the name of the product and quickly how/why you use it.  For example…. “I use this face cream because it makes my skin really really soft in the morning and I don’t have to deal with dry skin cause of this stuff”. This reinforces the BENEFITS of using your product.  For a service based business, pick ONE small element of what you do and what the BENEFIT of using this.  What will I gain by using your service?  That's what your customer really wants to know.
Day 12
Recommendations
What is something else that you love that you don’t sell?  Your favorite recipe for tea that you make at home?  Your curling iron?  Your bathrobe?  Doesn’t matter, just talk about that thing and where people could get one of their own and what you love about it.  Women LOVE recommendations from other women.  We all love to shop and be like “ooooo I found this thing, have you heard of it?”  YOU KNOW EXACTLY what I am talking about.  This is just fun for you and everybody else.
Day 13
Repurposed Content
Recording one big long video at the beginning of the week and then watching that vid again after you recorded can be so helpful to come up with new Ideas to post.  You can easily cut that vid to just post a 20-60 second clip that was really powerful.  You can pull lines from the vid to create text only or quote graphics.  Many weeks I will do this and It ends up becoming a whole weeks worth of content.  Try that.  I have someone else watch my videos and they choose the cuts.
Day 14
Encouragement Post
What would you say to someone trying to change their life?  You’ve been there, so how can you encourage them? What do you wish you knew then that you know now?  This can be a text post, a video, a selfie, a pro shot, anything.  Just be an encouragement to someone today.

Bonus!
Your followers and customers are obviously very very important to you.  How would you like to thank them?  Think of a way to be genuine and share your heart on community, how grateful you are for everyone and how much you love being a part of people bettering their lives through using your products, etc.  But speak YOUR HEART!!!  Go ahead and use whatever photo you would like to use or record a video here, doesn’t matter.  You could try grabbing your favorite random photo from your camera roll… I know it seems so random, but showing people your real life and your heart is so precious and important to others.

You are being faithful and serving your customers so so well by bringing your best to this page.  Keep going my beautiful friend!
Day 15
FAQs
What do you get asked CONSTANTLY?  When you are showing your product/service to someone, what do they ask?  This can also be something people send to you through direct message or something they comment all the time… just DON’T say “something I get asked constantly” lol.  Start off the text with the question or the answer to the question, and then go into more detail about it.  This is considered one of your two product posts for this week, so be sure to show you using your product or a picture of someone else using your product, or of you holding it, whatever you want.  If you do a video of this, make sure it’s under 59 seconds so it can be watched fully without having to click to IGTV.
Day 16
Your Industry
What is going on in your industry right now?  Something good? Something bad?  What’s something you wish people knew about your industry? Talk about this. Don’t bash if you go with the bad thing. You catch more bears with honey.  Stay on the positive side, but tell the truth. Nothing controversial, but something that might set off a spark of conversation.  This could be a long paragraph with a photo, quote graphic or you could do a IGTV on this and then just upload the video directly to FB.
Day 17
Common Threads
There is no secret to social media success. It is consistently posting content that people want and being yourself. Both things… not one or the other.  One way you can look into what your audience wants is…. You simply watch the posts that people commented on the most, that they hearted the most, etc.  Then you give them more of that same content, but always you still throw in the random wild cards so you can keep moving forward while being yourself and at the same time, you are testing new content.

But today, I want you to go back awhile in your profile and pay attention to which posts received the most amount of hearts over time.  What do those posts all have in common? For me the posts that are most engaged with are my style videos where I show people how to wear XYZ items and my smiling pics with long texts about something that is on my heart or almost like a shorter blog post.  People want to know who I am, not just what I sell.  I have seen this trend in almost every single industry.  You decide what your common thread is in your most popular posts and then give a similar thing to your audience today.  They always tell you what they want more of, you just have to know how to listen.  This lesson will change the years to come for you, not just today’s post.
Day 18
Your Journey
What is happening?  What is going on in your life?  You can share your passion and your struggles, your dream for you company, your problems during the journey.  Those are sort of the “big things”.  But even the little thoughts throughout the day that are small and maybe sort of insignificant to you might mean EVERYTHING to someone.  What part of your journey (however big or small) could you share with people today?
Day 19
Don't start from scratch
Don’t start from scratch.  One reason why people struggle to keep up with content on their page is because they try to either make it so perfect or so different from everyone else’s.  But the world’s top top companies research other companies and mimic them so they blend in and don’t have to work so darn hard at developing a culture.  I know you don’t necessarily want to BLEND in, but the point is, if you are like “I don’t know what to post!”  This is what you do on those days and today:
Go to one of your favorite pages that is not in your industry.  What are they talking about that people just like you are engaging with?  Can you talk about that today?  How are they delivering their content?  Can you deliver your content like that today?  What is their highest engaging post?  Could you do something similar today?  What are you noticing about them that you could learn from and apply to your page?  What are you drawn to that you’d like to try on your page?   Pick one of these concepts and use it to create a post today.  Whichever one you want.  Side note:  It’s really good to be in touch with what other industries are doing because all of your customers are interacting with a lot more than just your products.
Day 20
Do you ever?
Asking the question do you ever…. Ask your audience if they ever do whatever thing you do.  This is such a fun way to engage with people ‘cause it’s usually something really funny or unique and encourages conversations.

For example:  I will be sitting there at my desk, writing my to do list and I’ll just write myself a small piece of encouragement on my to do list like “Paula, your day is full today, but you got this!”  IDK if anyone else does that but maybe I should share that and ask ppl if they do that ever?  Or how about this…. I have no freaking clue what to get for Cas for Christmas… I think I’ll ask my audience if they know what they are getting their husbands so I can get an idea.  Maybe you make something really non traditional for breakfast or write yourself notes on your bathroom mirror with a dry erase marker, or maybe you drink juice straight out of the carton…. Idk but have fun with this!!
Day 21
Dear _________,
Dear _________,
Using this line and filling in the blank with who your product is for.  This is easy to do and it gets you thinking about what your customer really wants from you.  Who is my face cream for?  Why do people use your product?  What do they want to get from it?

Example:  Dear anyone who wants to have glowing skin with or without makeup, I get you!  And I’m right there with you working on getting the glow every day!  I have never used a better cream for this!  It gets me so glowy and dewy and just look……
Then you have a pic of yourself with to without makeup looking all beautiful, proving your point.

Ok!  By now you should be seeing incredible results!
Write to me and tell me what you're seeing

Day 22
Poll
This is SUCH a great way to gather info about what people want next whether that is a product or what they’d like to see on your social channel.  Let’s use this to ask a question about your product this week.  You can ask whatever you want to know the answer to.  I use these to find out what people want…. For example: Do you use eye cream to A. Get rid of puffiness or B.  Diminish wrinkles?  Keeping it with only two choices helps people to not feel overwhelmed.  If there are 3 or four choices they are like “nope, I don’t want to think that hard.”  And don’t answer.   Here’s the bonus to this… whatever people answer with, you know that’s what you want to talk about on your product post later this week.
Day 23
Have Fun Day!
This is a day where you try something that just sort of pops into your head… those types of posts are some of my very very most engaging posts.  They are a little bit of a risk ‘cause they are wild cards… something you wouldn’t normally talk about.  I did a video of me roasting veggies and how I did that, and I NEVER talk about cooking really… I talk about fashion or style or my family… a lot of the same sorts of things, but throwing in a random here and there can add some fun and a cool thing happens…. People get to know a little more about you.  It doesn’t have to be about food either… do you have a pet or a funny story or a journal entry that you’d like to share?  Have fun with it!
Day 24
#momproblems or #justgottalaugh
#momproblems
Is anything more relatable than a toddler losing their mind in the cereal aisle cause you want to buy cheerios instead of fruit loops?  LOL. But really any story of a scenario like that with a pic of you and your kiddos…. One you haven’t shared before… you can pull one from your personal page if you want, otherwise whatever pic from your phone.  ONE SMALL AND ACTUALLY BIG TIP…. A pic of you with the kids will probably perform better than just one of the kids…. BUT again you can break this rule and see what works better for you.  My page likes pics of me and the babies better.  I’m suspicious that your page will be the same way.

OR

#justgottalaugh
If you are not a mom, you can post something inconvenient in life that you just have to laugh about… like a squeaky cart wheel at the grocery store… or silly pet behaviors… or getting stuck behind someone slow on the road… just make it relatable and light hearted.
Day 25
Share the small things from your life…
It’s the little things. Even the things that seem kind of less than awesome to you are very important to your audience because when you are walking through a boring or mundane part of your day, so are they.  They go grocery shopping and scrub their toilets and take out the trash too.  And they want to connect with a real human!  I have done snap shots of my slippers or a pic of the temperature or me in a dumpster (super glamorous, I know!!). The important thing is that you show a part of yourself that you don’t normally show.  Maybe you are cooking or scrubbing dishes or stuck in traffic… talk about it!  I know this seems irrelevant but it’s such a real part of life that people can relate to and that is what resonates!
Day 26
Promo Vid
You should re-upload a promo video to Facebook and Instagram TV…. It will get into the feed again and more people can watch or re-watch the video.  If you don't have a promo vid, re-post a vid about your product or service that you've already posted.   It's always great to make good use of what you’ve already got!!  Don’t put a lot of text with this… just like a small little line like “Why I love my job so much!”
If you do not have a vid specifically about what you do... you need one!  Don't make It perfect, just make It!!  Remember the beauty of social media Is that If you vid Isn't watched that much, you will ALWAYS have another shot at making that vid.
Day 27
Share the small things from your life…
It’s the little things. Day 28

Day 29
People Love You for You
Because sales are so crucial to the success of a company, the drive to sell can take over sometimes. I think having run a brick and mortar store for 9 years, I understand better now than ever that if a relationship is built, if my customers feel cared for, sales will naturally just happen.  So today, let’s just have fun.  People love you for you!  They don’t want the very professional version of you, they just want you.  I’m not saying to put it all out there for everyone to see, but to come from a place of, I’m just having fun here, sharing my life, making friends, and being my best self… I think that perspective is much easier to continue posting consistently rather than letting the pressure of “I have to sell this product” take the joy out of building the company and the relationships.  Seeing social media from this perspective is very freeing and helps you to get your head in the right place,  Your audience is worth investing your time and energy into because you are building your future with them and you need them in your life.

So today, share something that you have not shared before.  Not your dirty laundry lol.  Not a rant.  Just your heart.  Even if you think it’s boring or insignificant, share it anyway.  So many times I have done that thinking “no one is going to care about this or respond to it!”  And it becomes my most highly engaging post of the week.  Sometimes it tanks, but that’s to be expected.  You were born to take risks though, that’s why you are in business!!  Never forget that.
Day 30
Short Questions
This is a simple simple darn easy way to give people a chance to talk.  All day long they get posts shown to them but what if they were invited in a no strings attached sort of a way to talk back.  It is important how you word these questions because so often, in order to get comments well meaning people will type out this long post and then at the end throw in “what do you think?”  And it just feels like it’s reaching for comments.  But these short questions are more like things you would say in real life in line at the grocery store.  Imagine greeting a store checkout lady… what would you say to her?  Probably something like “Has it been busy today?”  Or “Do you have anything fun happening after work?”  You wouldn’t ask her what she thinks about your company.  She doesn’t have time to talk about that.  Same with someone scrolling on Instagram.  They just have a second to talk.  So you ask them things like “What did you have for dinner last night?  I’d love to get some ideas!”  Or “Any recommendations for wine that you are obsessed with?”  These types of questions are ones that people can answer quickly and would love to talk about with you.  On Facebook, you do these with text - only posts and then be sure to respond to just some but not all of the comments.  On instagram, you need to use a photo so you can do a text graphic or else something that I have noticed working well on Insta for this type of post is to ask “Do you like this or this better?”  More like multiple choice format.  OK Have fun!

That’s it for your 30 Days, I’m so proud of you for committing to this and am excited to see where this is going to bring you in the future!!  Don’t lose momentum and don’t look back.  That’s my best advice I could ever ever give.

Love,
Paula
